PERGE –ASPENDOS-SİDE
Perga now commonly spells Perge which was the capital city of the Pamphylia region, south western Mediterranean coast of Turkey. Today it is a large site of ancient ruins 15km east of Antalya in the coastal line. There is an acropolis located, dating back to the Bronze Age. In Perge you will see city gate, Roman Bath, Column Street, Agora and Stadium. Aspendos was an ancient city in Pamphylia, Asia Minor. It was situated on the Eurymedon River about 10miles (16km) inland from the Mediterranean Sea. Here we will visit the best protected theatre of the little Asia, which the theatre has amazing acoustics and during the summer months concerts are held here (listening to an opera or a musical under the stars in such an ancient setting is an evening not to be missed). Then we will drive to Side antique city, and we will see the splendid Agora, Theatre and Temples built in the seventh century B.C.
Itinerary (Approximate times) 08:00. Pick up from hotels. Flexible departure depending hotel location. 09:00 Arrival at Perge. One of the largest ancient citys in the Pamphylia region. Perge was the capital city of Pamphylia . The Roman Bath, the Agora, Colonaded street , Nymphaion and the Stadium will be visited. 11:00 Departure for Aspendos Ancient Theatre. 12:00 Visit Aspendos. This well preserved ancient theatre was built in 2nd.cent.AD. It has a capacity of 15,000 people and its is still being used for festivals and music concerts. 13:00 Lunch break at the restaurant near by the river Köprüpazari. 13:45 Departure for Side 15:00 15:15 Arrival at Side which is the one of the best classical ancient cities in Turkey. Side was a port city where it had the largest Slave market in this region. During the Roman time many constructions were built in Side including the theatre, Roman bath, and Apollo's Temple . Guests will have 1 hour free time to enjoy the sea and the city. on the way back if we have enough time stop at Kurşunlu waterfall. 17:00 Departure for Antalya . arriving around 18:00 pm..
